Yes! That's cool for those of us that didn't get all the individual short stories this time around. I think Miki had first posted about this; she found it on Amazon a few weeks back. Very cool!
IT'S SOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOL!!!!!! I don't know if there's a thread on this or not, but here it is anyways!!!
March 14, 2006: Good news. There are several new AG publications due out in Fall 2006 including reprintings of the recently retired Historical Doll Short Stories! These will be books collecting all of a girl's short stories in one hard bound volume such as Molly's Short Story Collection. Their price will be $12.95.

Megaagfan, you might want to hold on to your Molly short story book, because they might not include the extra bit that 's at the end of the short story. When they created the "Collection" books for the main 6 books of each doll, they left out 5 of the historical bits at the end of each book.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Your absolutly right. I'm homeschooled, & I use the info from the AG books twards MANY of our historical things. Even if we aren't studying anything in those time periods, I still bring them up many times!!Originally posted by cami713:
I have no idea on this, but I would guess those here who are teachers (and especially the home-schoolers) use the AGs as teaching aides, and probably use the Peeks into the Past to relate the stories a bit more to history.
Once we were doing a school project together about the indians, & Kaya's stories & info really helped!!! It was the main thing!! It's cool!!!
K!! I won't sell it! I don't know why I never thought about that... ....hmm...Thanks for pointing that out!!!!!

I agree with Joy. It's very likely they'll take all of those out again .
It's tragic that AG doesn't see the historical sections as important enough to add an extra 10 pages to the Collection books. I wish current AG would treat the books with the respect they deserve. They aren't just some extra thing that you might buy if you have the dolls. For many, many people, they're what comes first. Retiring so many, or just excluding the historical aspects, makes the books seem slightly like any old children's book series .

I have every single one of the short stories, and they take up a lot of space. I'd like to get these new sets (over a few months, $13 for 8 books, *sigh*) to take up less space(assuming they do, of course!), and because I imagine there'll be at least a few new stories. But I will not be getting rid of my single volume sets. They might mean nothing to AG, but I think they have more value (perhaps just sentimental or educational, and not monetary), and those are the sets I'd like to have any future daughters reading.
